Someone once said to me that if I can master LIGHT, I will take marvellous photos. Well, I have not yet mastered light but the Master Creator of heaven and earth turned up a wonderful light show for me on my last evening at Norfolk Island. I had prayed for a beautiful dusk and the wonders of the changing lights last evening took my breath away.

The lone pine watches over Emily Bay while the rocky shore at Kingston is illuminated by the gentle rays of dusk.
Here at the old penal settlement of Kingston, the golden hue brings a warmth to the ruins that almost seduces us into forgetting the horrific past of these buildings.

Lighter boats like this are still used to ferry goods from ships to shore.

The army of pine on the hilltop stand like sentinels – keeping watch over the historical treasures of Kingston.

As the sky cooled, this scene took on a painted look as if an artist had drawn pencil lines over the straight edges of the buildings.
